Become a 21st Century Executive: The Millennial Effect

Become a 21st Century Executive: The Millennial Effect
   Friday, August 14
12 p.m. (PT)/2 p.m. (Central)/3 p.m. (ET)
A Live & Online Broadcast

For Beyond 50's "Emerging Trends" talks, listen to an interview with Nigel Dessau.  He'll explain that by 2020, being “successful” at work will require a whole new set of skills.  For the first time in modern history, the country’s workforce is composed of four generations of workers.  And with millennials (18 - 30 year olds) taking over the job market at a rapid pace, the future of the workplace will never be the same.   Find out what the new skills are required for becoming a 21st century executive; the importance of having a mentor; why maintaining a "work-life" balance is myth; and about learning to adapt because companies are no longer offering training like
before.

Mysticism, Mental Illness,
and Complex Trauma
For Beyond 50's "Spirituality" talks, listen to an interview with Mark Lesniewski.  An Oregon resident, he has a background in seminary studies, Spiritual Direction training, Clinical Pastoral Education, and a Master's degree in Contemplative Psychotherapy.  According to Lesniewski, some people who were close to Jesus thought he was crazy.  Same with Francis of Assisi.  And what do you make of a prince (now know as the Buddha) who leaves his palace and family and, early on, lives a life of extreme asceticism in a forest?  All three master mystics pointed us to more sane ways of living together.  How would we handle them today?  Last year "USA Today" published a series of articles called, "The Cost of Not Caring."  One particular article was subtitled, "The Financial and Human Cost of Neglecting the Mentally Ill."  What does this neglect say about our collective spiritual health, and what affect might it have if we changed our perspective about mystics, the mentally ill, and trauma victims, especially if we see what they, and we, all have in common?

30 Illegal Years to the Strip,
Part 3 of 3
For Beyond 50's "History" talks, listen to an interview with Bill Friedman. He'll talk about his 48 years of research and experiences hanging out with famous gangsters
who built the early Las Vegas Strip gambling resorts.  After Prohibition ended, the leaders of the country's four biggest gangs began operating elegant, high-rolling casinos across America, until local reformers closed them. Then these four gang's leaders built 80% of the Las Vegas Strip gambling resorts from the Flamingo in 1946 to Caesars Palace in 1966. Exposed for the first time are the roles actually played by gang leaders Ben Siegel, Meyer Lansky, Charlie "Lucky" Luciano, Frank Costello, Joe Adonis, Al Capone, Frank Nitti, and Moe Dalitz.

  Integrative Cancer Care:
 The Power of Being Informed
Live Broadcast
Saturday, August 15
 12 p.m. (PT)/2 p.m. (Central)/3 p.m. (ET)

For Beyond 50's "Natural Healing" talks, listen to an interview with Dr. Adam McLeod.  He is back on the program.  Internationally recognized as Adam Dreamhealer, he has helped many to heal through his spiritual abilities using visualization and energy medicine.  Dr. McLeod will talk about integrative oncology, which he specializes in as a naturopathic doctor in British Columbia.  Learn about evidence-based natural therapies, from Hyperthermia to Mistletoe,  that are available and how they can be used in an integrative cancer setting.  He wants those with cancer to become an informed patient and get involved in their own healing.

Understanding Cancer Better:

The Myth of the Alkaline Diet - Eating alkaline foods and drinking alkaline water is ineffective in the fight against cancer.  You cannot change the pH of your blood enough to influence cancer.  If you were able to make your blood significantly more basic, it would quickly result in kidney failure, respiratory failure and ultimately death.

Red Meat - I am not convinced that grass-fed red meat is safe for cancer patients.   The reason for the cancer connection is because red meat has high levels of IGF-1, free iron, heme, and omega-6 fatty acids.

Glycemic Levels and Cancer Recurrence - I tell virtually every cancer patient that they should avoid sugar.  Cancer cells often have significantly more insulin receptors than normal cells.  It turns out that although sugar acts as fuel to cancer cells, the mechanism for the enhanced tumor growth is the insulin spike because cancer cells have more insulin receptors.  It is this spike in insulin and insulin-like growth factors that stimulate the growth of cancerous cells.  In other words, it is not the sugar content that is stimulating growth; it is the response to sudden increases in sugar levels.

Fasting - Fasting 48 hours before chemotherapy and 24 hours afterwards can reduce side effects while increasing effectiveness of chemotherapy.

Kyani: Three Simple Ways to Improve
& Maintain Your Health
For Beyond 50's "Natural Healing" talks, listen to an interview with Mary Louise Zeller and Jon Paull, representatives of Kyani products to talk about the Kyani Health Triangle.  In the modern world, health is secondary to convenience.  For most people the unexpected hospital visit is only a matter of time.  Today's busy lifestyle is literally killing people.  Stress, sleep deprivation, environmental toxins, and soils void of vital minerals & enzymes take a major toll on our health.  Processed foods lack the nutrients we need to prevent oxidation within our body.  This leads to damaged cells, tissues, and organs.  Luckily, there is a solution.  Kyäni is proud to provide high impact and all natural, superfood based products.  The Kyäni Health Triangle provides the needed nutrition for any lifestyle.  Each product plays an important role in daily wellness. Together they work to neutralize free radicals, lower the risk of disease and provide optimal health and well-being.
