  Fueling Your Entrepreneurial Spirit:
Launch a Startup in 54 Hours

Beyond 50 encourages you to attend a Startup Weekend near you that is hosted by Google for Entrepreneurs.  What's unique about this event is that it's part of a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures.  It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 1800 past events in 120 countries around the world in 2014.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation.  The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

You can also learn from our guest, Mona Fuad through an interview this Friday at 12 p.m.(PT)/3 p.m. (ET).  She is an American success story, using the beauty tricks she learned from the glamorous Hollywood movie stars while living and working as an actress in Cairo, Egypt.  Fuad emigrated to Texas, starting her own business in the 1970's.  She  introduced fake, beautiful nails that can be painted.  The average American woman at the time didn't know how to make her nails dramatically long, and if she could do it once, Mona said, she didn't know the trick to keeping all 10 nails consistently pointy. Her empire grew into a nationwide franchise operation that is part of a billion dollar nail industry.

Celebrating Easter & Earth Day
"But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell
you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.
Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is
the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."
 - Job 12:7-10

April is a great month to see constant reminders of birth and rebirth that are natural cycles within and around us.  We encourage you to listen to the following interviews:

Judas of Nazareth:
How the Greatest Teacher Of
First-Century Israel
Was Replaced by a Literary Creation
In celebration of Easter, listen to Beyond 50's "Religion & Spirituality" talks with Daniel T. Unterbrink.  He'll explain about the real, historical Jesus that was Judas the Galilean, a messianic and Torah-observant revolutionary bent on overthrowing the Roman government in 4 BC and was part of "The Zealot Movement."  The new Testament Gospels, therefore, are not transcripts of actual history, but creative works of historical fiction designed to promote Paul's Christianity and serve the interests of the fledgling Gentile Christian communities.  You'll also learn about the 42 similarities between Jesus of Nazareth and Jesus of Galilean and more, based on Unterbrink's extensive research as a forensics auditor.

Beyond 50's Related Note: Daniel Unterbrink's educational background and work experience in Medicare auditing gives him a unique advantage over most scholars.  He does not believe anything without solid proof: a good auditor does not make snap judgments but rather is guided by the data.  That is why he rejects the modern scholarship approach of interpreting history through secondary sources such as the Gospels and the Book of Acts. These secondary sources must be interpreted through the lens of primary sources, such as Josephus, Tacitus, Suetonius, Pliny and the authentic letters of Paul.  His method raises many questions that cannot be answered by the traditional interpretation championed by scholars.  As such, Unterbrink has attempted to steer clear from any one interpretation of Christian origins, and has followed the actual historical data in developing his own unique narrative.

"The Pollinator Queen" on Birds, Bees,
Butterlies & Bats

You'll also learn about her touching story - a three-month sojourn with a mother hummingbird, Artemis, and one tiny nestling - and how that encounter brought her back from the brink of despair after being caught in the financial downturn and market crash of 2008.  Nesting on Noelle's balcony, preparing to give birth, Artemis provided the uplifting and inspiring encounter that began Noelle's journey of discovery and healing. Together they welcomed "Baby" into the world.
