PG-50+ Movie Reviews
Beyond 50 only recommends films that are creatively responsible to reveal the finest qualities of the human spirit; allow you to think and feel deeply about life; make your heart soat; and champion human rights.

Springsteen and I
This documentary is like a love letter between Bruce Springsteen and his many fans.  He's still going strong at 63, exuding passion, joy, hope and heart in his performances.  You'll enjoy the great concert footage and personal video clips contributed by various fans on what their musical hero means to them.  (Available in select theatres; Genre: Documentary, Musical & Performing; Running Time: 1 hr., 45 min.)

                                 Blackfish
A psychological thriller on killer whales in captivity.  The documentary raises the question of whether it's ethical to separate baby orcas from their mothers in the wild, penn them in to experience sensory depravation, immobilization and torture, then withold food as punishment to force them to perform "tricks" for the entertainment of paying audiences.  As a fact, orcas have never been known to hurt humans or seriously hurt other orcas in the wild.  Why then did Tilikum, a 32-year-old bull orca kill three people?  The truth told in the film is shocking. (Available in select theatres: Genre: Documentary, Special Interest; Running Time: 1 hr., 20 min.)

Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me

This documentary is an eloquent tribute to Big Star, one of the most beloved and influential American cult bands of all time in the 1970s.  Many music critics raved about their music, which would be recognized today as indie pop rock. Despite inspiring countless acts like R.E.M. and Flaming Lips, Big Star became one of the biggest bands that never made it. When their dreams of overnight stardom failed, they called it quits in 1974.  (Available in select theatres; Genre: Documentary; Running Time: 1 hr., 40 min.)

   Don Miguel Ruiz, Jr.:
The Five Levels of Attachment
Friday, July 19
12 p.m. (PT)/3 p.m. (ET)
 A Live & Online Broadcast

For Beyond 50's "Personal Growth" talks, listen to an interview with Don Miguel Ruiz, Jr.  He'll educate about how we have developed our belief structures and how to go about re-evaluating or even severing these harmful attachments.  We have all unwittingly made agreements about how we choose to live our lives and what we believe our personal truths are.  But what we may not realize is that each one of these agreements represents an attachment, a limiting filter on who we think we are, and what the future could hold.  We call these attachments “knowledge” without ever questioning if that knowledge is necessarily true for us.

 The 10-Second Philosophy
For Beyond 50's "Personal Growth" talks, listen to an interview with Derek Mills from the UKHe'll talk about how he turned his life around from failing businessman and father to creating a massively successful and harmonious life.  It only took one seemingly insignificant question from an office security guard one night for Derek to stop, connect deep within himself, and in the next 10 seconds begin to see a way to change his entire life completely.

Mills' philosophy of immediate change—The 10-Second Philosophy® can transform your business, relationships, and life, and also bring you a sense of empowerment.  You'll discover such things as how to follow the guidance of your True Self to set Standards - not goals - to achieve real success in all areas of your life.

Goals vs. Standards:
According to Mills, "While goals are future-based, Standards are a now, today experience, and as such change you immediately.  As long as I could remember, when I used goals to achieve success my life was a failure and caused me to be unhappy.  This was more than practical enlightenment.  I also knew that if I lived each day by my new higher Standards, then my life would make room for me because I would be living as my TrueSelf, and this was the key."

  Rediscovering Marine Plasma

Beyond 50 would like to thank Roy Dittman,OMD, MH - a specialist in Perinatal Health and the author of "Brighton Baby" for introducing us to the miraculous healing powers of marine plasma, as discovered by Rene Quinton from France in 1897.

Over 100 years ago, Quinton proved that marine plasma is a precursor to red and white blood cells.  To demonstrate his theory, he conducted an experiment in front of hundreds of medical doctors, where he drained the blood out of a stray dog and replaced it with his isotonic marine plasma.  Not only did the dog survive, it thrived.  This experiment has been repeated more than five times throughout the 20th century.

Marine plasma can correct the way in which our genes are being expressed at a fundamental level.  The viscous fluid produced by zooplankton contains a dilute "soup" of minerals and alkalinating salts, along with DNA, RNA, fatty acids and other beneficial elements for humans and animals.  It is increasingly recognized that genetic transcription depends heavily on the presence of trace elements.  Marine plasma contains all of the naturally
occurring elements on the Periodic Table to help make corrections in our genetic expression.

Through his clinic in California, Dittman has found marine plasma as a special detox to helping eliminate morning sickness in pregnant women.  It's so safe to use, it can help to purify a newborn's blood and keep their cells healthy and clean.

If you'd like to learn more about marine plasma, it is available as a natural product for long term use calle d Original Quinton and QuintEssential.  There are 69 FREE clinics known as "Marine Dispensaries" established throughout Europe and Northern Africa where only Plasma de Quinton is administered for dozens of life threatening health conditions.
